Lighting Artist pro 2K Czech
For our team we are looking for a talented and reliable colleague for the position of a Lighting Artist to contribute with his/her professional knowledge, motivation, and skills to the development of our games. Lighting artist is responsible for lighting our game environment, defining its light scheme and post-processes of film scenes, and thus provides the project with the final, breathtaking mood and look. S/he is also responsible for maintenance and enhancements of the tools and related procedures.
Responsibilities
- Defining, developing, and maintaining the light scheme, palette of colors, post-process effects, and visual ideas in general to transform the non-lighted 3D models into amazing, visually-convincing 3D game environment
- Cooperation with our graphical artists to optimize the look and performance of 3D environment of the game for its smooth real-time run
- Controlling all internal render features and shaders related to lighting and post-processes, designing, and communicating their enhancements to the coders
- Ensuring that all the goals related to lighting are finished in their full extent and in accordance with the project requirements
- Adjusting to and respecting the concept and style of the projects
- Self-education concerning lighting and post-production and keeping track of new trends in the discipline
Requirements
- Secondary or university education in IT, computer visualization, graphics or computer animations is an advantage
- Very good knowledge of lighting in some of robust types of software (3ds Max, Maya, After Effects etc.) and other software or tools for creation of lighting in the 3D environment
- Exceptional sense of light composition, thorough understanding of in/direct lights, brightness, exposition, and theory of colors
- Experience in generating light maps, pre-lighting, and pre-baked lighting
- Ability to create and maintain all the lighting in the game, i.e. both dynamic and pre-baked, settings of interiors and exteriors, film characteristics of lighting, and lighting of characters
- Previous work in graphics or animations (films, games, free-lance work etc.), previous work in the game industry is an advantage
- Communicative knowledge of English
